Subject: [CI] Cannot find ci file to patch in RedHat 7.1
Hi,
I am trying to get the ci working on redhat 7.1. My partner installed 7.1
and if I cd to /usr/src/linux, then I don't find any ci file to apply the
patch, so the patch fails when I try the command patch -p1 <
ci-linux-2.4.2-2-v0.6.0.patch
I renamed the patch file to current version of linux on redhat 7.1. Does
CI work on a redhat installation or only on the core linux 2.4.X version?

download the the kernel versioned 2.4.16 from www.kernel.org or from
any of the mirrors. Then
cd /usr/src/
tar -xvf DOWNLOAD_DIR/linux-2.4.16.tar
cd /usr/src/linux
and then apply the patch.
I am not sure which version of CI you are trying. Try the latest one.
which is against linux kernel 2.4.16.

Hi Vikas,
The 0.6.0 version of the CI patch only works when applied to a
linux-2.4.16 kernel source tree. I believe Redhat 7.1 comes w/ the source
for linux-2.4.2 so the patch will not work for that, even if you try renaming
the file ;-) Please goto ftp.kernel.org and download the linux-2.4.16 kernel
tarball and unzip it in /usr/src/linux. If you absolutely must run a CI
cluster based on linux-2.4.2, then please download the 0.5.5 version of the
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=32543
However, we _strongly_ recommend you run the latest 2.4.16 source.
Regards,
-Kai
